Ingredients

For the Rolls:

  • 4-5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons rapid rise, instant yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (110 degrees)
  • 5 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • 1 whole egg (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of rapid rise yeast, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  • In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of warm milk, 5 tablespoons of softened butter, and 1 egg. Whisk until well combined.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon until a soft dough begins to form.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  • After the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide into 12-15 equal pieces and shape each into a ball.
  • Arrange the balls in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and cover with a towel. Let rise for another 20-30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for about 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and brush the tops with 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
