Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups cooked sweet potato approximately 2 medium potatoes, baked or boiled until soft
  • 1/2 cup coconut flour gluten-free flour that adds texture and flavor
  • 1/4 cup tapioca starch can be substituted with arrowroot starch
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper a pinch
  • Olive oil for brushing on the crust

Instructions

Instructions:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Sweet Potatoes - Begin by cooking your sweet potatoes. You can either bake them at 400°F for about 45 minutes or boil them until tender. Once cooked, let them cool slightly, then peel and mash them in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  • Step 2: Combine Dry Ingredients - In a separate bowl, combine the coconut flour, tapioca starch, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure even distribution of ingredients.
  • Step 3: Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients - Add the mashed sweet potatoes to the dry ingredients and mix until combined. If the mixture feels too wet, gradually add more coconut flour until you achieve a dough-like consistency.
  • Step 4: Shape the Crust - Preheat your oven to 450°F. On a parchment-lined baking sheet, spread the dough out into your desired pizza shape. Aim for a thickness of about 1/4 inch for a crispy texture.
  • Step 5: Bake the Crust - Brush the crust lightly with olive oil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Step 6: Add Toppings - Once the crust is baked, remove it from the oven and add your favorite toppings. From classic tomato sauce and cheese to fresh vegetables and meats, the choice is yours!
  • Step 7: Final Bake - Return the topped pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
