Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the butter mixture, mixing well.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers remain soft.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes
