  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for cooking
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage finely shredded
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • fresh cilantro for garnish
  • lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, honey, hot sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss the peeled and deveined shrimp in this mixture, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes to soak in those bold flavors.

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the shrimp along with all the marinade. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook.
  • While the shrimp cooks, warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or directly over the flame, flipping until they’re soft and pliable.
  • Lay a warm tortilla flat. Add a small handful of shredded cabbage, then top with 3-4 shrimp. Layer on avocado slices and sprinkle with fresh cilantro. Finish with a squeeze of lime juice.
